The Franklin County Animal Shelter is considered a "no-kill" shelter. This means we do our very best to adopt all of our animals into happy forever homes, and we never euthanize animals because of a lack of space. As part of that endeavor, we check that all adoption applicants have already secured a veterinarian to care for their new pet, and we check to ensure any past pets have been kept up to date on all of their vaccinations. Are you a renter? We call landlords to make sure their aware of the size and temperament of the animal you're planning to bring home. All of these measures are with the very best interests of the pet in mind. We want to make sure every animal placed goes to his or her fur-ever home!
